Cardi B Makes Her Blinged-Out Debut as Playboy's First Creative Director in Residence

In addition to being a Grammy-winning rapper, an actress, a mom, and a certified wedding officiant, Cardi B is officially Playboy's first creative director in residence. "Today is a Playboy milestone: we want to welcome our first ever Creative Director in Residence, the icon, @iamcardib to the family," the brand captioned an Instagram post shared on Dec. 2.

On Friday night, Cardi made her debut as creative director at Art Basel's Playboy party in Miami, where she celebrated the launch of Playboy's new lifestyle brand, Big Bunny. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper turned heads in a Prada mini dress with a diamond Playboy bunny pendant. Other guests included Charli XCX, David Guetta, and Lizzo.

Given that Cardi rocked a $400,000 custom bunny-ears necklace at Hot 97's Summer Jam back in August, we're not surprised that she was asked to join the team. "Introducing the FIRST EVER Creative Director In Residence at the legendary @playboy, it's ME!!!" she captioned her own Instagram post on Thursday. "Joining the @playboy family is a dream and I know yall are going to love what we put together 😏 I'm startin this party right . . . We're going to have soooooo much fun."

As part of her new role, Cardi will also take on responsibilities as a founding member of Centerfold, a new creator-led platform, similar to OnlyFans, which will "allow content creators to interact directly with fans," according to Forbes. In a Sept. 21 post written by Playboy on Medium, the brand revealed that the new site will amplify the messages of "the most revolutionary voices of our day" through "digital covers, feature stories, interviews and, of course, striking and sensual pictorials. We will also arm our creators with access to content production, merchandise capabilities, blockchain integration and more."

It sounds like she has a lot on her plate, but we know the Cardi Tries star is always up for anything, and we're ready to see her crush it. Keep reading to see Cardi at Art Basel's Playboy party in Miami.
