Chris Evans Is 2022's People's Sexiest Man Alive: "This Is Something [My Mom] Can Really Brag About"

Chris Evans has been crowned this year's People's Sexiest Man Alive! On Nov. 7, the 41-year-old actor officially received the title when People unveiled its annual cover on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert." While Evans could not appear on "The Late Show" to be interviewed for the occasion, 2016's Sexiest Man Alive, Dwayne Johnson, filmed a video presenting the title to Evans on the set of their upcoming movie, "Red One." When asked to say something sexy for the audience, Evans simply said, "Go vote tomorrow." Check out the clip ahead.

Evans has been making us swoon ever since his breakout role in 2005's "Fantastic Four," but most of us love him for his starring roles as Captain America in the MCU or Buzz Lightyear himself in "Lightyear." In addition to "Lightyear," Evans also starred alongside Ryan Gosling in Netflix's "The Gray Man" earlier this year, which the streamer recently green lit for a sequel and a spinoff film.

Most recently, the actor announced that he's kicked off production for his holiday movie, "Red One," with Dwayne Johnson. "Callum Drift and Jack O'Malley. We're already having WAY too much fun on this one," he captioned an Instagram photo from the film on Nov. 7, adding, "I can't believe I'm finally doing a Christmas movie!"

In his interview with People for its Sexiest Man Alive issue, Evans said his new title was something his mom "could really brag about," and his middle school self would be "pumped" about receiving the title. "This would probably be the road to the cool table — which I was not at."

Evans went on to discuss love, explaining he's a better romantic partner now than he ever was in his younger years. About the prospect of settling down and starting a family, he said, "That's absolutely something I want. Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared. So it's also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can't think of anything better."

And based on Evans's outlook on relationships, he seems like he'll make an amazing husband one day. "I don't like to argue, I don't like to raise my voice, or any forms of manipulation," he said. "I find a certain level of humility sexy but that doesn't necessarily mean physically at all. I just think it's very wise to recognize that you might not know [everything]. It's wise to recognize you could be wrong. It's wise and mature to be able to say 'I'm sorry I made a mistake,' to be vulnerable and not always be looking for the argument or take things to an argumentative place. That takes a lot of maturity and I find that very sexy."
