Time's Up: 13 Photos From Celebrity Members of the Powerful Movement
On Jan. 1, 300 actresses and industry insiders joined forces to launch the Time's Up initiative to fight against sexual harassment and assault in the workplace. Some of those women are Kerry Washington, America Ferrera, Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Eva Longoria. While the movement did garner the "widespread attention" the women hoped for, it also resulted in some special friendships.
Before the Time's Up initiative, Natalie revealed that she was rarely able to bond with other women in Hollywood and that her only actress friend was Rashida Jones. "It's been really incredible to gather actresses because I think something that we realized was that we're usually the only woman at work," Natalie said at the recent Makers Conference. "Like many other industries, we walk onto a nearly all-male set and we're usually alone and we rarely get to interact with each other. I've never had — I think Rashida was my only close actress friend until now." It's amazing what happens when women come together.
