The 34-year-old San Diego native attended the University of Southern California, where he cofounded the Good Neighbor comedy sketch group with Beck Bennett, Nick Rutherford, and Kyle Mooney in 2007. Their sketch videos have acquired over a million views on YouTube.
Speaking of Kyle, he and Dave are best friends. The two first met in sixth grade, and they've been close ever since. Dave often shows off their hilarious friendship on Instagram.
Dave has been with Saturday Night Live since 2013 and has scored three Emmy nominations for his work on the series. In 2016, 2017, and 2018, he was nominated for outstanding writing for a variety series.
In 2017, Dave directed a film called Brigsby Bear, which starred his BFF Kyle. The movie marked Dave's directorial debut and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival that year.
The newly engaged couple first met in 2016 when Emma hosted Saturday Night Live. The two began dating in 2017, and they mostly keep their romance out of the spotlight.
