The Hunger Games movie franchise may have wrapped up last November, but the fandom will continue to live on, espcially because of the enduring legacy of Katniss and Peeta's love. The characters, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, have become a beloved YA couple, one which is formed in the most extreme circumstances. Anyone familiar with the series knows the legacy of their first bond that happens years before Katniss and Peeta enter the arena: when Katniss is desperate and starving, Peeta throws her a burned loaf of bread.
Aside from a flashback scene where it happens, it's not really addressed in the first movie. But actually, it was — it's just in a deleted scene that is only now becoming available with the release of The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection, which comes out on March 8 on Digital HD and March 22 on Blu-ray/DVD. We have the exclusive look at the clip, where Katniss finally gets to say something about the bread incident to Peeta — it's sort of a thank you, even though she tries to close herself off with the admission. And you know how that turned out.
