After what felt like a roller coaster of emotions over whether Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen would be in the Netflix reboot Fuller House (they were in, they were out), it's been cemented that neither Olsen is in the first season of the show. (We do know how Michelle's absence is explained.) While we've given up hope that an Olsen twin will revisit the Full House world, the showrunners have not. At the show's panel at the Netflix TCA, original creator Jeff Franklin told reporters that they really wanted the Olsens: "We all tried to persuade them to come and play. They decided not to at this time." Franklin has not closed the door on the possibility that one of them could show up in a future season, though. "We're hopeful at some point in the future that they may change their minds and come back and play Michelle. We only need one of 'em! We're still hopeful that that will happen. I'm sure we've all had family reunions and not everyone shows up. We still love them, and the door's always open, and I hope it happens."
