Pretty Little Liars: 6 Juicy Hints About the Finale, Straight From Huw Collins

The season finale of Pretty Little Liars has come and gone, leaving us dizzy with new mysteries, imminent danger, and a lengthy list of questions. Perhaps the biggest part of season six's conclusion is the one-two punch in the penultimate scene: not only does Jessica DiLaurentis have an evil twin named Mary Drake, but she's in cahoots with Dr. Rollins, the heretofore "nice guy" who married Alison. To help us untangle the confusing web that is now our reality, we hopped on the phone with Huw Collins, the actor who plays Rollins. Keep reading for the six major things from the finale he helped us unpack.

Collins Didn't Always Know Dr. Rollins Would Be a Bad Guy

"It wasn't explicit that he was going to be a bad character going into it. It was initially told to me that he was a good guy . . . and then, as time went on, the subtexts of the scripts . . . I think around that time Marlene let me in on the fact that Rollins is not 'holier than thou;' he's actually a Machiavellian psychopath who has decided to dupe his wife into believing she's crazy so that he can further his own ends."

No One Really Knows Much About A.D. Except For, Well, I. Marlene King Herself

"I don't think anyone but Marlene really knows the true, true answer to that. And for good reason. I think it's a really interesting one. I mean, who knows? It could be Rollins. It could be Mary. At the minute, they're the top of the suspect list. They have to be. I think that it's going to be really interesting to see who it is, and why, and I think that's obviously going to have a really integral part of seeing this mystery come full circle."

Dr. Rollins Is Likely Not the Only Character We've Seen Wearing a Mask

"I think that there are a couple things that you can take from the reveal, and the fact that Dr. Rollins was wearing a mask. I think that it would be fair to say that, given the reveal, and given the fact that other characters have been wearing masks to masquerade as someone else, to gain information, or to further this overall plot. I think it would be fair to say there's a fairly high proportionate chance that Dr. Rollins has been masquerading as other people throughout the season. However, I would say that, on the flip side of that, it would definitely be dangerous to assume that, if he has been, he's been the only one doing it."

There's a Good Chance Mary Drake and Dr. Rollins Know Who Killed Charlotte

"I think that, given their general plotting, which has quite some depth to it when you step back and consider the general manner by which they've manipulated their environment to further their own means, I think it would be dangerous to say that they are unaware of what's going on. Or that they don't know what's going on in ultimately what is, you know, a very small town."

Maybe Mary Drake Has Been Right Under Our Noses This Whole Time

"I would say that hiding in plain sight would be my instinct on it, but it's a difficult one. I'm as in the dark as you are on that one. I would love to know how she's stayed hidden for this long, and why she's stayed hidden for this long is the other thing."

Dr. Rollins Could Possibly Be Related to Wren Kingston!

"What I would say is, you know, there have been kind of repeated associations with England and London. Pretty Little Liars is not a show that does things without some sort of significance, whether it's in the short term or whether it's in the long term. And so, I think it would be one way of looking at it, that there's some sort of relevance to that. That he's from London, and potentially that might mean there is relevance with other characters from London, or whether there's relevance to being in London."
