Let's Take a Closer Look at the Final Vampire Diaries Scene

This week's The Vampire Diaries season premiere ended with a shot of Damon and Bonnie living somewhere. But where are they? Are they in heaven? Some other Other Side? To help investigate, we have made GIFs of the scene in question so we can ponder Bonnie and Damon's fate. Maybe you won't have it all figured out, but you can at least moon over Damon's cute pancake-making smile.

First we see pancakes, then Damon's pretty mug while the sun shines behind him and the song "Shine" plays . . . with lyrics about heaven.

While we don't really think this is heaven, it's got to be somewhere Damon is very happy, because he's rocking bright red flannel and making adorable pancakes.

And that smile! Whatever this place is, it's not so bad. Especially compared to Mystic Falls, where vampires burn if they try to enter. So, where are they?
