After spending what felt like an eternity complaining about the dearth of romantic comedies in Hollywood, it seems Netflix has answered the call by giving us more reasons to drink wine and get teary-eyed on Saturday night. Following the success of big-screen romances like The Big Sick, the streaming giant has been quietly pumping out plenty of original rom-coms that you need to check out ASAP. Are any of them going to win Oscars anytime soon? Probably not. Will you still be 100 percent emotionally invested to the point you need to watch over and over again? MAYBE (translation: yes, obviously).

Set It Up
In Set It Up, two overworked assistants (Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell) hatch a plan to make their high-powered and demanding bosses (Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs) go a little easier on them: make them fall in love. Despite the seemingly silly premise, it's genuinely funny, smart, and heartfelt (Powell and Deutch's chemistry is off the charts, too).

Ibiza
Gillian Jacobs, Vanessa Bayer, and Phoebe Robinson star as three BFFs who take a spontaneous trip to Spain (and later, as the title suggests, Ibiza) where they encounter love, drugs, ridiculously sexy DJs, and some serious sunburns.

The Kissing Booth
Full disclosure: The Kissing Booth is kind of absurd. If you know that going in, you'll be able to (hopefully) get a few laughs out of the lighthearted rom-com, which follows Ramona and Beezus actor Joey King as she navigates first love in high school.

Alex Strangelove
Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny) is your average high school senior with a great girlfriend, Claire (Madeline Weinstein), who seems like he has it made when it comes to his future. What he doesn't expect said future to include, however, is a blossoming romance with Elliot (Antonio Marziale), a handsome guy who opens Alex's eyes up to other sides of himself and his sexuality.

Ali's Wedding
If you're looking for humor and romance wrapped up inside a family drama, check out Ali's Wedding. The film follows a musically gifted young man as he struggles to respect his Muslim family's wishes and go through with an arranged marriage, despite being in love with another woman.

When Abbie (the wondrous Gugu Mbatha-Raw) discovers she has an aggressive form of cancer, her future with childhood sweetheart Sam (Michiel Huisman) is thrown off the rails right before their wedding. Trust us when we say Irreplaceable You is worth the tears.

Like Father
Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer star in this film about a woman who gets left at the altar and then accidentally ends up on a honeymoon cruise with her estranged father. Naturally, she also strikes up a romance with a bartender working on the boat (Seth Rogen), so you can look forward to just as many raunchy jokes as heartwarming family moments.

In the aftermath of World War II, a writer (Lily James) unexpectedly bonds with the people of Guernsey Island and decides to make them the subject of her next novel. Game of Thrones and Irreplaceable You heartthrob Michiel Huisman stars alongside James in this period film, which has been adapted from Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows's 2008 novel of the same name.
