Adele Floats Along a River With a Glass of Rosé in the Dreamy "I Drink Wine" Video

A "cheers" is most definitely in order as Adele has finally released another music video from her "30" album. It's been a year since we were treated to the visuals for "Easy on Me" and 10 months since "Oh My God", so fans were long overdue another hit single. Adele teased fans on Instagram on Oct. 25 with a snippet of the video for "I Drink Wine," revealing that it was actually the first one she shot from the album. A day later, the full version dropped, opening with Adele floating along a dream-like river holding, of course, a glass of rosé.

As the singer drifts on the water, she passes a range of scenes, including a couple chatting on the banks, a little girl who throws a toy boat in the water despite her mother telling her not to, and a group of male fishermen, including "Insecure" actor Kendrick Sampson. She tosses the wine bottle overboard and is then joined by a group of synchronized swimmers in the water for the epic chorus.

As the evening turns to night, there is a particularly meme-worthy moment (we predict your socials will be full of it), where the swimmers try to entice her with more wine, which she pushes away. The surreal video, directed by Joe Talbot, ends with the camera panning out to show the set, bringing us all back to reality with a bump. Speaking on Nikkie Tutorials's "Power of Makeup" series back in December, Adele hinted that the video was "just f*cking hilarious" and "the campest thing you'll ever see," so we knew we'd be in for a treat, and it does not disappoint.

Throughout the video, Adele is wearing a stunning sequin bardot dress and ear cuff, with bare feet. Her Hollywood waves are swept to one side as her signature winged eyeliner complete her look. Apart from the one major aforementioned accessory: a glass of rosé wine. And it seems she had already given us a glimpse of the video back at the 2022 Brit Awards. For her performance of "I Drink Wine" at the show, where she won three awards, she wore the same Valentino dress. Designed specially for the star by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the off-the-shoulder neckline, subtle frill detailing, and the gold-green sequins which change color in the light ooze modern glamour.

It's been a busy time for the star who recently won an Emmy for her CBS special "One Night Only", moved in with her boyfriend Rich Paul, and has been rehearsing for her postponed Las Vegas residency starting on Nov. 18, so we imagine floating along a river was a welcome break. All that remains is for you to pour yourself a glass and join Adele on her journey of self-discovery by watching the video below. Cheers!
