There Are Only 7 Songs in Avengers: Endgame, and They're All Solid Gold

So often in the middle of Marvel movies I find myself thinking, "What is this song? Remember that you liked it and look it up later," only to completely forget after the usual three-hour runtime. Not this time! Taking a note out of Guardians of the Galaxy's playbook, Avengers: Endgame featured a handful of very strong classic rock songs from the '60s and '70s. I've assembled them ahead, but if you're looking for the full score, every instrumental track is currently available on the YouTube Channel for Walt Disney Pictures Music. Take a look — nearly each song has a special meaning within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (And if you're in more of a '90s mood, check out the recent Captain Marvel soundtrack.)

"Dear Mr. Fantasy" by Traffic

This 1967 slow rock song plays as the opening credits flash. The decade is an important one for Marvel; Iron Man was first introduced into the comic universe in 1963, and got his own series in 1968.

"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone

This is the song that introduces our beloved Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy. It's reprised in Endgame, as the heroes travel back to 2014 at the exact moment Peter is having his solo dance party.

Iron Man and Captain America heading to New Jersey circa 1970 was the perfect excuse to use this track from the same year.

"It's Been a Long, Long Time" by Harry James and His Orchestra

This song closes out Captain America's story in Endgame, as we see him and his true love, Peggy Carter, finally having that dance she saved for him. Originally released in 1945, it's a perfectly fitting tune for their moment in the sun.

"The Rubberband Man" by The Spinners

This song hearkens back to Avengers: Infinity War, when the Guardians arrive.
