INTRO
Was it honestly the best?
Cause I just wanna see the next
Diligently passing through
All our yesterdays
So beautifully
Yeah the past was honestly the best
But my best is what comes next
I'm not playin', nah for sure
Heading towards the day
'Till I get winded
You and I, best moment is yet to come
Moment is yet to come, yeah

VERSE 1
Not sure since when
But they say we're the best
Full of these unfamiliar names
Now they just feel heavy
We just loved music
We're just running forward
Promise that we'll keep on coming back for more

PRE-CHORUS
Somewhere deep inside your heart
There still lives a young boy
My moment is yet to come, yet to come

CHORUS
Do you have a dream? What's at the end of that path?
Moment is yet to come, yeah
In the hush of night, we won't stop moving
Yet to come
We gonna touch the sky, 'fore the day we die
Moment is yet to come, yeah
This is only the beginning, the best yet to come

VERSE 2
That uncomfortable title we were given one day
We are still abashed by being called the best
You know, I, I, just love music
Nothing much has changed from back then
If nothing much has changed, probably
You'll say it's all a lie, yeah
There were a lot of changes but
I'm still the same, a new chapter
Every moment is my new best
Like I'm thirteen years old again
Spittin' bars just like I did back then

VERSE 3
Still got a lot to learn
My life, got a lot to fulfill
If you're askin' me why
My heart's tellin' you
We ain't about it, the world's expectations
We ain't about it, that step of being the best
(We ain't about it)
Crowns and flowers, countless trophies
(We ain't about it)
Dream & hope & goin' forward
(We so about it)
It's back to square one after making one long turn, back to one

PRE-CHORUS
Somewhere deep inside your heart
There still lives a young boy
My moment is yet to come, yet to come

CHORUS
Do you have a dream? What's at the end of that path?
Moment is yet to come, yeah
In the hush of night, we won't stop moving
Yet to come
We gonna touch the sky, 'fore the day we die
Moment is yet to come, yeah
This is only the beginning, the best yet to come

OUTRO
So was it honestly the best?
Cause I just wanna see the next
Dazzlingly passing through
The memories
So beautifully
Yeah the past was honestly the best
But my best is what comes next
We'll be singin' till the morn
Heading towards the day
More like ourselves
You and I, best moment is yet to come

What Do BTS's "Yet To Come" Lyrics Mean?

Cowritten by members RM, J-Hope, and Suga, "Yet To Come" sees BTS reflect on their musical journey and lessons learned in the industry over the past nine years.

"Was it honestly the best? Cause I just wanna see the next," Jungkook opens the track with these lyrics, setting the tone for the rest of the song. The artists ruminate on the unprecedented success they've achieved so far, transcending the invisible language barriers and soaring past the wildest expectations of fans and critics alike. The group momentarily ponders if they have moved past the peak of their careers. However, as the intro draws to a close, we see their unwavering determination to keep growing: "Yeah the past was honestly the best / But my best is what comes next," V croons.

BTS also touched on the worrying anxiety that creeps in when experiencing such behemoth proportions of success, V singing, "Not sure since when / But they say we're the best / Full of these unfamiliar names / Now they just feel heavy."

The South-Korean bandmates started their musical career in their teens, and the group members are still in their 20s nearly a decade later. They open up about how their mutual love for music paved their path. Despite accumulating myriads of accolades and titles, they feel the same spark internally, still fueled by their shared passion: "Crowns and flowers, countless trophies / We ain't about it / Dream & hope & goin' forward / We so about it."

BTS also offer their gratitude to their loyal fans who ardently support them every step of the way. They concluded the track with a hopeful outlook, promising the ARMY that "the best is yet to come."

What Does BTS's "Yet To Come" Music Video Mean?

The "Yet to Come" music video is set in a desert. The nostalgic visuals are peppered with many references to BTS's past projects. Fans quickly picked up on several aspects of the new video that are recreations of their previous music videos, including "Blood Sweat & Tears," "Run," "ON," and more. The most touching throwback includes a parallel between the group's critically acclaimed song off of the 2017 compilation, "You Never Walk Alone," "Spring Day," and the newly released "Yet To Come." The former music imagery shows the seven musicians sitting together in a train compartment. "Yet To Come" video closes with the group taking a school bus toward the end while occupying the same sitting arrangement as before. That school bus, it turns out, is also an Easter egg.

Another reference that's captured many viewers' attention points to their 2013 single "No More Dream." The song holds a special place in the ARMY's hearts, as it marked the official debut of BTS. The previous video starts with the group arriving on a yellow school bus with Jin driving the vehicle and later getting off it as they set out on an adventure. Fast forward to June 2022 and the group members are seen setting off in the same bus in the "Yet To Come" music video, which is likely a nod to the end of their first chapter as they bid farewell to their previous eras through revisiting their art in the anthology album. As they enter their tenth year as artists, "Proof" might represent the end of the first phase of their journey as musicians, as they reiterate in the lyrics that their best versions are yet to be seen by the world. We certainly can't wait to see BTS step into yet another glorious era of their careers!
