In Case You've Forgotten, Here's Where We Left Everyone at the End of Emily in Paris Season 1

Emily (Lily Collins) finds herself relocating from Chicago to Paris to take on a fashion marketing job that her boss was originally supposed to take but couldn't at the last minute. Upon arrival, she's written off at the agency for her American-ness, but she powers through, showing her new coworkers her social media savvy and making power moves in the industry (much to their chagrin). She also breaks up with her boyfriend, who's back in Chicago, because he can't handle a long-distance relationship, and she then meets her handsome neighbor Gabriel. The two click but mostly stay friends. In the end, Emily mostly wins over her coworkers and Gabriel — despite Gabriel's complicated relationship with Camille that kinda sorta ends but then stays up in the air. She and Gabriel sleep together in the final episode of season one, but viewers aren't sure what will come next for them.

Mindy (Ashley Park) moves to Paris from Shanghai as a nanny and befriends Emily when Emily needs it most. The two grow close quickly, and Mindy is there for Emily through her struggles with adjusting to being in a new city. It also turns out that Mindy is a former contestant on the singing competition show Chinese Popstar and totally blew it, but she redeems herself midway through the season when her friends set her up at a karaoke night to give her song another shot. Toward the end of the season, Mindy gets fired from her nannying job and turns to Emily for help, and naturally, Emily's there for her.

Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) is a handsome chef who lives in Emily's building. Emily first meets him when they bump into each other in their building, and they eventually find themselves enjoying each other's company. Despite both clearly having feelings for the other, they don't act on it (right away), because it turns out Gabriel has a girlfriend, Camille. Gabriel realizes that to follow his dream of opening his own restaurant, he will have to move back home to Normandy, so he and Camille break up. He and Emily also admit their feelings for each other and hook up — but then Gabriel doesn't leave! The season one finale ends with Gabriel deciding to stay in Paris and Camille telling him that they should discuss things since he's not leaving after all.

Camille (Camille Razat) meets Emily in passing, and the two become fast friends. But this is before Emily realizes that Camille is Gabriel's girlfriend. Though things are somewhat tense, Camille never actually realizes that Gabriel and Emily have feelings for each other and are purposely not acting on them for her benefit. Emily does hook up with Camille's brother, though, when she, Gabriel, and Camille are at her family's estate. Ever the sweetheart, Camille mostly brushes it off. She gets her heart broken, though, when Gabriel says he's going to move to Normandy and the two break up. When he decides to stay in Paris, she tells him she wants to talk. It's clear she wants to get back together and doesn't realize Gabriel and Emily have hooked up.

Emily's frosty Parisian boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), doesn't make life easy for her new American employee. She picks on her and does everything she can to get her to quit and go back home. Emily, though, won't be pushed and in fact helps Sylvie with her clients and increasing the firm's popularity and brand awareness. At one point, Sylvia does try to fire Emily, but again, Emily won't be pushed, and she helps the firm recover from a major gaffe (that was Emily's fault to begin with), and Sylvie is finally won over. Mostly.
