A 13-Foot-Tall Jharrel Jerome Falls in Love and Starts a Big Adventure in "I'm a Virgo"'s New Trailer

Have you ever seen a 13-foot-tall person up close? Well, get ready to in Amazon Prime Video's new coming-of-age series, "I'm a Virgo," starring Jharrel Jerome. The Emmy winner stars in the quirky comedy — created, written, and executive produced by "Sorry to Bother You" filmmaker Boots Riley — as Cootie, a giant young Black man in Oakland, CA, who's grown up hidden away from the world because of his humongous size. Ready to see the world, he eventually embarks on an adventure to discover what he's been missing out on — both good and bad.

Per the show's first teaser trailer, which Prime Video unveiled on March 6, Jerome's overgrown Cootie has been tucked away in his parents' small home all of his life, stumbling around and putting holes in their walls because they fear "the world is not ready" to encounter someone quite like him. But as the preview teases, viewers will soon get to take a "fantastical joyride with a young man on his way to do big things." The streamer also followed up with another clip of Jerome in "I'm a Virgo" on May 8, which revealed the show's summer premiere date.

Then, on May 30, Prime Video released the show's full-length trailer, which reveals a larger-than-life tale much bigger than Cootie. From navigating his first awkward love and a wretched swamp monster label to the realities of being Black in America, Cootie discovers a world unlike anything he ever anticipated.

"I'm a Virgo," billed as a "mythical odyssey," marks Jerome's latest role since wowing audiences in award-winning projects like "Moonlight" and Netflix's true-life miniseries "When They See Us." In a February interview with Collider, Riley teased Jerome's performance in the upcoming series, saying he "does an amazing job, and people are going to be looking at him with different eyes after this one."

The show, which Jerome also serves as an executive producer on, stars other familiar faces like "On My Block"'s Brett Gray and comedian Mike Epps. Ahead, find out everything else we know about "I'm a Virgo," including when you can start streaming it.
