10 Movies to Watch While You're Waiting For Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2

Based on the novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman star in this movie as sisters who, just like Sabrina, are raised by their aunts after their parents' death and, also like Sabrina, have magical abilities that serve as a double-edged sword. When Sally and Gillian Owens realize that all of the men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death, they must use their powers to fight off the family curse. Be warned: Hilda and Zelda have nothing on the Owens sisters.

In this '80s indie thriller, Kelly Preston plays Miranda, a pretty girl who is gallantly rescued by a charming young man (played by Tim Daly) and welcomed into his home, where the two quickly become lovers. However, their honeymoon period is cut short when a spooky woman appears, claiming that Miranda is on the run from her coven of Satan-worshiping witches and that they want her back. If you think Harvey and Sabrina are cute, just wait until you see Preston and Daly's onscreen chemistry.

Based in the town of Ipswich, MA, this movie revolves around four high school boys who are the descendants of colonial witch families and given magical abilities on their 13th birthday. Those powers continue to grow until they reach peak at 18, but there's a catch — their power also is linked to their life force, and so the more they use, the faster they age. Just like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, this flick demonstrates all the dark and addictive pitfalls that magic can have.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, this Southern gothic romance is about a teenager named Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) who becomes enamored with the new girl in school, Lena (Alice Englert), who also happens to be the niece of the town patriarch (Jeremy Irons). Though Ethan notices that destruction seems to surround Lena, what he doesn't yet know is that she has supernatural powers beyond her control, or that a curse looms for Lena on her 16th birthday, when the forces of either light or dark will claim her.

Rather than witchcraft, this movie offers a dark twist on a fairy tale, with Amanda Seyfried playing Valerie, a young woman torn between her true love, Peter, and the man her parents want her to marry, Henry. Though she and Peter plan to run away together, Valerie's sister is killed by a werewolf before they can put their plan into action, and the villagers call on the help of a famous monster hunter who warns that the beast takes human form by day — and may even be someone Valerie knows. Not only do both Sabrina and Valerie have a penchant for red and hanging out in the woods, they both know how much familial pressure can really screw up your love life.

In this flick, scream queen Anya Taylor-Joy plays Thomasin, a young woman who witnesses the disappearance of her youngest brother in 1630 New England and is consequently accused of witchcraft. Taylor-Joy plays Thomasin with such conviction that you actually believe she's trapped in a 17th-century waking nightmare, though her frightfully good performance is only matched by Black Phillip, who might even have the demonic humanoid goat who plays Satan in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina beat for the scariest goat of all time.

This sequel may not be as great as the original, but the plot will definitely feel familiar for Sabrina fans. In the movie, a quiet and bookish girl with superhuman abilities (played by Emily Bergl) decides to get revenge on the football team after their taunts and harassment drives one of her closest friends to commit suicide. Yes, this movie is a bit of a disaster, but Rachel Lang definitely gives Sabrina a run for her money when it comes to going to great lengths to defend her friends from the popular crowd.

In this '90s cult classic, Robin Tunney plays a high school transfer student whose telekinetic abilities appeal to three wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their satanic rituals. When the four teens realize that their nascent powers may have very real consequences, it would be an understatement to say the power goes to their heads a little bit. If you think the Weird Sisters are terrifying, just wait until you meet Bonnie, Nancy, and Rochelle (played by Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk, and Rachel True, respectively).

If you can't get enough of Kiernan Shipka, then you'll love this 2015 thriller. In this movie, a troubled young woman (Emma Roberts) visits an isolated Catholic boarding school in the dead of Winter, where two students whose parents never picked them up for Winter break (played by Shipka and Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton) are battling a sinister threat from an unseen evil force. Be warned: Shipka's Kat could not be more different from the Sabrina we've come to know and love, and watching her in this role could not be more entertaining.

A remake of the 1977 supernatural cult classic by the same name, this 2018 movie centers on an American ballerina who transfers to a prestigious dance academy in Germany, only to realize that her new school has a dark history of occultism and is responsible for a series of brutal murders. Dakota Johnson stars in this one alongside Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, and Tilda Swinton. Though you won't see much dancing happening at the Academy of Unseen Arts, being a new student at Markos Dance Academy might be even more intimidating.
