While this twist isn't necessarily shocking, it's interesting to see how Meredith finally opens herself up to someone new. It's subtle but palpable. Even more intriguing is the fact that Mer's "hate-sex" session with Riggs doesn't have to turn into more, but it does anyway. Plus, Meredith doesn't particularly like Riggs, and Owen hates him. Guess you can't help who you fall in love with, right?

While frantically searching for Owen and Amelia's wedding rings at Meredith's house, April's water breaks. There's no time to get her to the hospital, and there's a huge complication: her baby is breech, meaning it's about to come out legs first. This presents a whole slew of risks. To stop the baby from suffocating, she's going to need an emergency C-Section surgery . . . on Meredith's kitchen table.

There's only one person who's with April when she goes into labor: Dr. Warren. With all the drama this season — and his tendency to "go rogue" — he's understandably very opposed to operating on April in Meredith's home. But with no one else around and a slow-to-respond ambulance, he has no choice. He cuts into April without anesthesia and manages to save both mother and child.

By now, it's pretty much a given that you shouldn't get on Alex's bad side, but DeLuca doesn't even do anything wrong. While taking care of a (very drunk) Jo, he takes her home and tries to put her to bed. Jo starts pulling off her clothes and DeLuca accidentally falls on top of her. Of course, Alex walks in just at this moment, jumps to his own conclusions, and starts punching DeLuca over and over.

In the final moments of the episode, Maggie confides in Meredith about her new, romantic feelings for — yep, you guessed it — Dr. Riggs. Given the fact that her sister Meredith has already hooked up with him (and is in the process of locking him down), things could get dicey going forward.
