The Academy Awards is usually Hollywood's most dignified celebration, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Last year, the wrong film was awarded best picture — momentarily, at least. La La Land's filmmakers got halfway through their acceptance speech when it was revealed that Moonlight was the real winner. This year wasn't the only time a presenter has called the wrong winner. 1974: The Streaker

In 1974, David Niven was introducing Elizabeth Taylor when a man ran behind him . . . wearing no clothes. The streaker was a photographer named Robert Opel, and it took Niven and the audience nearly a full minute to regain their composure after the unexpected nudity.

1989: Rob Lowe and Snow White's Opening Number

Rob Lowe was the hottest actor in Hollywood in 1989, but the way he opened the Oscars that year went down in the Hall of Shame. 2017: The Best Picture Fiasco

Despite all the mistakes that have come before it, the best picture mixup is absolutely the most shocking thing to ever happen at the Oscars. Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway got the wrong envelope, and announced La La Land to be the best picture winner. As we soon learned, Moonlight was the real winner. Yikes.
