Riverdale is filled with crazy twists and harrowing scenes. Sure, there are some adorable couples and lighthearted bits, but for the most part, this show excels at putting us on edge. Between a corpse being removed from its grave and a dead body interrupting a high school musical, the fictional town is brimming with spine-chilling occurrences. Ahead, relive some of the show's spookiest moments, but only if you can handle the fright!
When Cheryl jumps into Sweetwater River and Archie fights to save her, she hallucinates Jason's dead body with a bullet hole in his head. What's even scarier is how Jason slowly reaches toward Cheryl while they're submerged. *Shivers*
Has Nana Rose randomly creeped into your dreams, or did that just happen to me?
Betty's dark side almost pushes her over the edge when she nearly boils Chuck alive after his sexual encounter with Veronica. She almost seems possessed, but it just goes to show that Betty is battling some intense demons.
I really thought they weren't going to show Clifford's entire body during this scene. But they did, and it was gruesome.
Miss Grundy certainly deserved to suffer some sort of consequence for continuously having relationships with underage students, but her murder is still frightening. It's also the first time we see the Black Hood in season two, and he undoubtedly makes his presence known.
This still blows my mind. Like how did nobody notice the Black Hood — a weird dude in a ski mask — lurking around backstage? And how did he have time to pin Midge's body on a wall and write messages with her blood? Still, the plot holes don't take away from the fact that this scene is horrific.
Honestly, Cheryl's face makes this 10x scarier. The terror in her eyes pierces right through you.
Chic doesn't have to do much to scare the daylights out of me. Just look at him. He can't be trusted.
Of course Jughead isn't really dead, but watching FP carry his near-lifeless body will haunt me for a long time.
I almost threw the remote at my TV and ran out of my apartment when those babies started levitating.
The Gargoyle King loses his intimidating aura throughout season three. But when we first see the ghoulish figure, it's rather petrifying.
This is just chilling (and gross), and I need Cheryl to let Jason rest in peace instead of a secret room in her house.
