36 New TV Shows We Still Have to Look Forward to in 2020

The blockbuster movie season was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but TV is still going strong — for now, at least. With the year halfway over, there are still plenty of new TV shows to look forward to in 2020 thanks to the many, many streaming options available and some quick thinking from the traditional networks. While there's no word yet on when returning favorites like Grey's Anatomy and This Is Us will actually get to film new seasons, Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and the rest of the streamers, networks, and premium channels have enough new shows already filmed (or acquired from abroad) to keep us busy at least through the fall. From the Jordan Peele-produced horror series Lovecraft Country to the Kim Cattrall-led Filthy Rich, the 2020 TV season is just getting started.

- What it's about: Set in 1989, this British/Australian import follows a London housewife who is forced to relocate with her kids to her hometown of Newcastle in Australia after her husband's unexpected death. Unfortunately for her, she left town for a good reason, which she's reminded of the minute she shows up on her mother's doorstep.

Showtime initially scheduled the show to air after this year's election, but the highly anticipated miniseries will now premiere in September.
