Welcome to the first edition of The Friday Drop! As POPSUGAR editors, we love discussing our new weekly music finds, and if you're looking for recommendations for what to listen to as you head into the weekend, we've got you covered. This week, Maluma surprised us all with a new album (and a fun music video), BTS blessed us with their first English-language single "Dynamite," (which came with some cool '90s-inspired outfits), and Amber Mark put her own spin on Sisqo's famous "Thong Song" — I'm sorry, Sisqo, who? JK, JK. Check out even more new music ahead.

"Cielo a un Diablo" by Maluma

"Maluma's surprise Papi Juancho album might just be the only bright spot for me this year. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a huge fan, but it's a whole mood and perfect for summer. Still, the one song I keep going back to is 'Cielo a un Diablo,' which basically means don't ask a devil for heaven. The song is about a woman who falls in love with a bad boy despite the fact that he warned her not to, and after I watched Maluma sing it on his Instagram Live, I was completely entranced. Can't blame him for telling it like it is!" — Monica Sisavat, celebrity and entertainment editor

"Dynamite" by BTS

"I've been playing 'Dynamite' on repeat ever since I watched the music video. I even took a disco break because I was so moved by its upbeat pop tempo and catchy lyrics. I've always loved BTS, but since this is their first English single, I was able to learn the words in record time." — Grayson Gilcrease, assistant celebrity and entertainment editor

"Envious" by Aluna

"Aluna's 'Envious' is all about grappling with the complicated feeling of anger and envy. It's hella relatable and makes me want to belt it out while dancing around my hair down. Sometimes you feel like sh*t and the only way to deal with it is to dance it out. 'Envious' is the bop to do that to!" — Meki Pierre, associate editor, celebrity and entertainment

"Thong Song (Sisqo Cover)" by Amber Mark

"Amber Mark has been whipping up incredible covers and original songs from her NYC apartment as part of her 'Covered-19' series, and whew, she totally nailed this rendition of 'Thong Song.' Don't get me wrong — Sisqó's OG version from 1999 is a bop for the ages, but Amber's cover has me hooked. She puts a soulful, unexpected twist on the track, and the dance-y background beat has me head-bobbing for all three minutes and 30 seconds." — Victoria Messina, associate editor, trending and viral features

"What Makes a Woman" by Katy Perry

"I have Katy Perry's 'What Makes a Woman' on repeat today. It's such a beautifully written song and hits in all the right places. The sound is reminiscent of her earlier, softer ballads, such as 'Thinking of You,' (one of the most underrated Katy songs of all time!), and the message is similar to the gorgeous original song Lauren Mascitti sang on American Idol this past season (could there be some inspo there?). I love how Katy ends it by saying, 'There it is Kathryn,' whether she's talking to herself or potentially her baby girl, I guess we will have to see!" — Charisandra Perez, social media and partnerships coordinator
