Brosnahan had a very brief but memorable role in the 2013 fantasy film as Genevieve Katherine Duchannes, the witch and ancestor whose actions curse main character Lena Duchannes years later.

In three seasons of House of Cards, beginning in 2013, Brosnahan played the ill-fated (aren't they all on this show?) character Rachel Posner, a prostitute who's a key player in ruining Peter Russo's career. The part earned her an Emmy nomination for guest actress in 2015.

Brosnahan had lots of interesting guest spots on TV series before and after House of Cards, including a memorable arc on the first season of The Blacklist as spy Jolene Parker. Her other TV parts include one-off appearances on Grey's Anatomy, Orange Is the New Black, and Gossip Girl.

Brosnahan joined another TV period piece in 2014: the 1940s-set Manhattan, where she spent two seasons as Abby Isaacs.

Blink and you'll miss Brosnahan in 2016's The Finest Hours as a town resident.
