Season 2 of Sex Education Is Already Off to a Great Start, Thanks to This Song From the Trailer

The trailer for the second season of Sex Education dropped on Tuesday, and we're already adding the trailer song to our playlists of the show's best music choices. The energetic yet thoughtful song that plays over our first glimpse of season two is "All at Once" by The Airborne Toxic Event. Listening to the lyrics, it's clear why the Sex Education team selected this song for the trailer.

"We get old all at once / And it comes like a punch / In the gut, in the back, in the face / When it seems someone's lied / And our parents have died / Then we hold onto each other in their place," one section of the lyrics goes. It's acutely evocative of the coming-of-age themes of the show, as well as the laugh-then-sob roller coaster of being a teenager. As Otis, Eric, Maeve, and their friends go through the next stages of their messy, often hilarious and heartbreaking lives, they've at least got each other to lean on, and the song captures that too. "And I feel the water risin' around us / Maybe that's OK / Yeah, I feel the world changin' all at once / I guess it'll be OK."

Listen to the full song below, and you can catch the full Sex Education season two trailer above while you wait for the show to return on Jan. 17!
