Zach Hayes, a dad from Citrus Heights, CA, admits he and his wife Ashley will do anything to support their 5-year-old daughter, Malia. So when she started to feel a little down about having alopecia, Zach decided to take the matter into his own hands by shaving his head.

The idea popped into his mind after he and Malia ran into a group of mean-spirited boys at the park. "I heard one of them go 'Dude, that's a girl and she's bald. She has no hair.' So I'm instantly like 'Come on, man. I don't want to do this right now.'" Unfortunately for Zach, questions kept coming about why Malia doesn't have any hair and whether or not it's going to grow in.

Zach realized that Malia was starting to feel self-conscious, so after discussing his idea with Ashley in the video, he decided to shave it all off and let Malia lend a helping hand.

"I asked her if it was OK if I looked like her. I told her it would be an honor of mine to have her cut my hair for me. I just threw the clippers in her hand and said go for it," Zach told an NBC affiliate. "And this is where we are!"

And judging by Malia's response, she seems more grateful than ever.
