This Mom Had One of the Rarest Births on Record — and Her Response Is Priceless

A North Carolina family recently welcomed naturally conceived identical triplets – a one-in-a-million phenomenon.

One month ago, Kimberly Fradel gave birth to daughters Grace, Stella, and Emily, but she's only now coming up for air.

In fact, she described the moment her doctor revealed that she was having such a rare pregnancy, and her response was one to which any parent could relate:

"She had a look on her face, and . . . I could tell something was wrong," Kimberly told WTVD News. "She said, 'I think you're having multiples. I think you're having triplets.' My first response was, 'Oh, God, no. Please, God, no.' Then she said, 'And I think they're identical.' For her, it was really great to see and exciting. But for me, the excitement came, but my first feeling was sheer panic."

She wasn't the only one shocked. She had attended that eight-week ultrasound appointment solo while her husband, Gavin, took their 2-year-old son to a doctor appointment.

"I think we adjusted, because you do," she said simply.

After the initial shock wore off, support from friends and family came, along with a few tricks once the babies arrived. Namely: they paint each girl's toenails a different color to tell them apart!
