UPS Drivers Surprised a 2-Year-Old With a Mini Truck — and the Photos Are Adorable

Marco Elizondo, a 2-year-old from Chula Vista, CA, has been infatuated with UPS trucks ever since he and his mom, Clarissa Alcazar, moved close to a UPS hub last year. Although he was interested cars and planes at the time, there was something about the UPS trucks, specifically, that sparked his passion. After Clarissa and Marco made it a point to stop by the facility to wave to the drivers every day for seven months, some friendly employees decided to surprise Macro with his very own mini UPS truck. As expected, it truly made his day.

"I've been jogging with him almost every day since he was about 6 months old and once I noticed he was really into UPS, I decided to change our route up and run up to the hub to see if we could see a UPS truck close up," Clarissa told POPSUGAR, noting that Marco was so interested in UPS trucks that her aunt even got him a mini uniform. "Well, not only did we see one but we saw all the trucks as they headed out for the day. There were so many of them and he just thought it was the coolest thing. So ever since then, we've made jogging up to the UPS hub in the mornings part of our route."

Mike Thornberry, the 24-year-old UPS driver behind the surprise, took the time to assemble the truck along with some of his teammates as a way of thanking Marco for brightening their day. "Anytime we do something like that for a child it kind of warms your heart," Mike told Good Morning America.

Once Marco saw the gift, he was overwhelmed with gratitude. Moreover, Clarissa was incredibly moved by all the thought Mike and his team put into the details. "I think initially he was in shock," said Clarissa. "He was so excited about it. He thinks it's the coolest thing. There isn't a day he doesn't play with his truck. They even gave him some mini UPS boxes he could throw in the truck when he plays with it. They thought of EVERYTHING! The vehicle number 5218 is his birthday May 2, 2018!"
