Rebecca Newby, a 23-year-old English and creative writing teacher in Pine Bluff, AR, decided to get creative with her hall passes this year, and she took a little inspiration from Cardi B. She made hall pass versions of the Cardi B "My Momma Said" meme, and oh my god — they're brilliant.

The adorable photo shows a 5-year-old Cardi — whose real name is Belcalis — with her hand on her hip and the classic look of an annoyed kid that screams, "But my mom said . . . " Thus, the meme was born, and the rapper even got in on the fun herself by sharing a few of the versions, including one that reads, "My momma said y'all have to play with me."

So, Rebecca's spin on the meme includes hall passes with phrases like "Ms. Newby said I can go to the library" and "Ms. Newby said I can go to the restroom." It's a hilarious, thoughtful DIY that undoubtedly made the students' return to school a little more enjoyable.

"My students love Cardi B, and so do I, by the way," the teacher told BuzzFeed News. "Hall passes are just a small piece to creating the culture of my classroom. I became a teacher because I realized how important it is to have 'good' teachers."
