This Viral Campaign Will Change the Way You Think About the Word "Flattering"

When someone tell us our clothes aren't "flattering," it's hard to ignore. But Mallorie Dunn, owner of clothing line SmartGlamour, is out to change that conversation.

Mallorie's #ImFlattered campaign features women embracing what they want to wear — styles they've been told to avoid by others. The women pose in sleeveless dresses, crop tops, and bold printed pieces (all designed by Mallorie) alongside written notes of the "advice" they were offered.

"Why do we think other people's appearances are up to us?" Mallorie wrote in a blog post. "Who do we think we are — judging, commenting, 'advising' on what 'flatters' someone? Perhaps — unless you are asked, it is better to keep comments on others' bodies to yourself."

It's an important point at a time when there's growing movement in the fashion industry to be more inclusive, whether it be about gender, age, skin color, or size. Women have the right to wear what they love, regardless of what other people may have to say. Read on for the inspiring campaign!
