Lauren Conrad's new LC Lauren Conrad For Kohl's drop includes some of the coziest pieces, so we thought, "who better to ask about holiday gifting?" When we talked to Lauren, she revealed everything from the present she gave her girlfriends in 2017 to her biggest challenge when shopping for her husband this time of year. Lauren also gave us a few tips about finding something that's one size fits all (bonus: she designed a really cool piece that works perfectly for this category!).

But if you think Lauren doesn't have a wish list of her own, you're mistaken. What girl can overlook festive jumpers this time of year or a great vacation dress for that upcoming getaway on the calendar? Lauren excitedly detailed her own must haves and also commented on some 2019 trends she's digging. Oh, and it's her Christmas wish that tiny sunglasses will go away. If you can rock them, LC loves you for it, but they're just not her cup of tea. Keep reading to see what is.

Lauren's Go-To Stocking Stuffers

"I think it's fun to mix in a few really personal items and kind of silly things, and then also a couple of things you know the people will love. I like getting things like socks in my stocking because it's not something you always think to buy because it's something that you need. Actually, that's why I wanted to have socks in our clothes line, and we did some really, really cute ones this year. They can be dressed up and actually worn and layered with a heel, or just worn at home."

"When it comes to holiday dressing, I feel like ASOS is actually a great place to look. I just got a jumper that I'd wear to a cocktail event . . . For a splurge, I'm obsessed with Zimmermann, so I've kind of been eyeing different pieces. We're planning on taking a trip to Hawaii in the new year. So I'll probably request a dress as a Christmas gift from my husband."

"When it comes to girlfriends, you want to think of the things that people don't necessarily get for themselves but maybe they need. I tend to think spa. I have bath soaps, salt soaps, scrubs, and even a spa gift box [in my line] that includes a candle you can customize by scent. And you can also add a personalized message on any of our candles, which is fun. Everybody needs a little pick-me-up. Or slippers. I know it's not the most glamorous gift, but I did it last year — I gave everyone slippers!"

Lauren's Husband Is Hard to Shop For

"My husband's really particular. So if it's electronics, he really puts a lot of thought into everything he buys. So I don't ever want to buy him the wrong model or size. So I always reach out to his friends. He's also someone who gets an interest and really dives in, and it's always changing. I usually end up getting him some sort of nice coffee book on whatever his current interest is."

"Around the holidays, I tend to give more gifts that are for the parents, so really cute children's accessories fall more in the clothing category. At Little Market, we have these really cute little sets that include knit animal hats with the ears ($28). I'd probably tie those in with a toy. I always loved getting cute little things like that for my son."

"We have great ruanas. I've always called them kimonos, and I didn't realize I was incorrect in that. But they're ruanas, and they're basically blanket scarves — super cute to layer over an outfit with jeans and a tall boot. And we have them in lots of different plaids and prints at a good price point."

Our Pick: Women's LC Lauren Conrad Slubbed Border Plaid Ruana ($23, originally $58)

Looking On to 2019 Trends

Looking On to 2019 Trends

"I think monochromatic dressing is so chic. I think for a while, everything got really wild with print mixing and no rules. But I'm someone who tries to adopt a uniform so that I can look put together without putting too much effort into it. So I love when I get to do a head-to-toe color, especially in forest green and plum. It's really nice this time of year, even coordinated with a coat.

"I don't think it's really going away, but my Christmas wish is that all these tiny sunglasses will go away. Maybe it's just me. I can't pull it off, so that's why I want it to go away. I have a couple girlfriends that wear it, and I'm like, 'OK. I get what you're doing there, and you look very cool.' But I just can't."
