Designers and creative directors Falguni Peacock and Shane Peacock have carved a niche for themselves in the global fashion space with their traditional Indian craftsmanship, contemporary silhouettes, and glamorous aesthetic. You've probably seen creations from their brand on red carpets and in music videos worn by everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé. Priyanka Chopra and several other celebrities wore their opulent designs at last year's South Asian Excellence pre-Oscars celebration, plus you can spot one of their gorgeous lehengas on Sarah Jessica Parker in season one of "And Just Like That." The Indian fashion house has always had a global approach from its inception in 2004, and we spoke to the designers behind the brand Falguni Shane Peacock about building their namesake label, their comeback to New York Fashion Week, and their current must-have products.

The husband-and-wife duo initially had two separate brands. "After we got married, it didn't make sense to have two different brands. If it's the same thing we both want, then why not do it together?" Falguni says. They decided to join forces and create their namesake label. The brand caters to both the South Asian market and the global market with its wide array of offerings. "We do Indian couture, we do western ready-to-wear and western couture, advanced contemporary. We're going to start a line of accessories, too," Falguni says. "We always designed for a well-traveled, modern woman who knew what she's wearing," Shane says. "She wears her traditional sarees, but she also does the modern part in terms of styling," Falguni adds. The designers' signature style is modern elegance, and most of their inspiration comes from traveling to truly capture that global essence, which is a core part of the brand's DNA.

Falguni and Shane's line started as resort wear, and at their first show in India, that collection got bought by Harrods, Villa Moda, and other global stores. They then showcased at Miami Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week. "We jumped to London fashion week, and that's when our sensibilities, our styling, everything approach towards fashion changed. We went from a resort brand to an edgy brand," Shane says. Around this time is when their designs were grabbing the attention of celebrities, and it inspired them to start showing at New York Fashion Week up until 2015. Although the brand is global, Falguni and Shane knew they needed to focus on building the brand in India, so they took a break from the Fashion Week shows in 2016. Falguni notes that since India is booming, it was the perfect time to grow in that market and build brand recognition and storefronts all over the country. "What's the point of you being so famous, if you're not famous in your own country?" Shane points out. Now their brand is one of the most sought-after for South Asian bridal wear and more.

This year, the designers are making their comeback to New York Fashion Week, and they've never been more excited. "When we left off, the passion was at a very different level; it was still a delicate, couture kind of a vibe. Showing at New York Fashion Week today, it's more street. We're in a time where I don't think gendered clothing matters anymore," Shane says. Falguni points out that the world is so much more connected, especially with Instagram in the mix: "It's going to be an interesting space to show in." Most recently, they opened at Indian Couture Week, complete with a Barbiecore-inspired showstopper worn by Bollywood actress Kiara Advani.

Falguni and Shane are both very passionate about their work, which makes working together a flourishing partnership. "Our personal lives and our work lives are so tangled that we don't know whether we travel for vacation or went to work. Some work trips feel like a vacation, and vacation also feels like work because we are talking about work," he says. When they're not building a global design house and dressing your favorite celebs, they love to watch movies and often get inspired by them. "There are times when we've just taken a break from work and told everyone we're just coming in one hour, we have a meeting, but we've gone, watched a movie instead," Falguni says. From bold red lipstick to foldable sunglasses and their favorite pieces from their line, Falguni and Shane share their current must-have products ahead.

"I am a lipstick person. Even when it's a Sunday, I wake up and shower, and then the first thing which goes on my face after my morning routine is lipstick," Falguni says. She loves Dior's range of lipsticks because of their soft and creamy textures that leave her lips feeling moisturized. Falguni's go-to shade is the Dior Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick in 999 Velvet Finish ($45): "It's nice and creamy and just gives this sort of a plump to the lip," she says. The bold red makes her feel confident and adds a beautiful pop to a wide range of looks. "I feel like red lipstick gives a sense of power and strength to a woman. I can conquer the world," she says.

Pro Tip: To make your lipstick last long, Falguni loves using the lip primer from Mac Cosmetics, along with lip liner all over the lip, followed by lipstick on top. "There are times when you have long events and you can't keep on touching up. I take a powder and just put it on the lip, and then again, layer the lip with lipstick, and it stays," she says.

From Tom Ford to Gucci, Shane's sunglasses collection is truly extensive and stylish. However, the pair that he's obsessed with are the Persol 714 Sunglasses ($395). Why? For one simple reason: you can fold these sunnies in half. "When you go out and you're wearing big bulky glass, you don't have a good place to put them. These fold up and you can even put it in your jean pockets," he says. In fact, he has them in a variety of colors, including black, brown, mustard, and green. Fun fact: Steve McQueen wore this style in "The Thomas Crown Affair."

Pro Tip: These frames have a wide fit and are great for those who prefer an oversize look.

As someone with a drier skin type, Falguni loves using the La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizer ($380) in her skin-care routine, deeming it a great investment. "It is really nice and light, it just soaks into the skin beautifully and makes the skin feel healthy and hydrated throughout the day," she says. The Crème de la Mer Moisturizer contains antioxidants and a cell-renewing miracle broth that is supposed to help with antiaging concerns, which Falguni notices in her own skin. "It takes care of the slight pigmentation and dark spots, and the fine lines," she says.

Along with this cult-favorite moisturizer, Falguni's skin-care routine consists of a gentle cleanse followed by the Caudalie Beauty Elixir Prep, Set, and Glow Face Mist; a vitamin C serum or a hyaluronic acid serum; an eye cream; and SPF. She also points out that the climate in India is humid and hot, but indoors, it's drier from the air conditioning, and this moisturizer is something she can depend on for her dry-skin needs regardless of the weather or environment.

Pro Tip: Falguni likes to massage the ultrarich moisturizer into her skin for a few minutes to help diminish water retention in the face and reduce puffiness.

There's nothing more essential than a high-quality, powerful laptop, especially when you're running a global fashion house, and Shane truly depends on his Apple MacBook Pro Laptop ($1,099, originally $1,299). "I can walk out without anything, but I need my MacBook Pro with me," he says. It contains tools for everything he needs, from his designs to checking up on the brand's in-house magazine, Peacock. He's able to take on the day with a machine that's efficient and fast, even while running programs like Photoshop. It even has around 20 hours of battery life. "If you're a creative person, design in any form, you need it," he says.

One feature he really appreciates is Apple's Continuity, which allows him to seamlessly use his iPhone, iPad, and Laptop together. "I can copy in my iPad and press paste on my laptop and it just appears, so it seamlessly connects with my devices," he says.

Pro Tip: When you're on the go, you can utilize Apple's Continuity feature and use your iPad as a screen extension for your laptop.

Falguni Peacock's Morning-Routine Must Have

Falguni practices intermittent fasting and kickstarts her day by drinking two glasses of warm water with lemon. She's not really a coffee drinker and prefers her teas, whether it's herbal ones or Indian chai. One of her favorites is the Traditional Medicinals Organic Lemon Everyday DetoxTea ($29). "It just relaxes me. It makes me think. This is when I'm just making my plan for the day, what I'm supposed to do, and tend to a couple of things. This tea just gives me a good sort of calmness and gets me prepped for the day," she says. This lemon tea contains organic burdock root, stinging nettle leaf, cleavers herb, and dandelion root, and it is supposed to help with liver and kidney function while promoting healthy skin.

Pro Tip: The brand recommends drinking this 30 minutes before or after a meal.

Shane is a connoisseur of fragrances and spends his time actually studying scents and perfumes. "Most of my time when I'm traveling, I'm spending my time at duty-free, and I'm trying to understand what are the notes, what are the base notes, what are the top notes, etc," he says. As a fan of sweeter scents, he often wears the alluring and viral favorite Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum ($325). This iconic fragrance is a dynamic layered scent of florals, woody notes, and amber. It has notes of jasmine, saffron, cedarwood, and ambergris. "It evokes kind of a feeling of your childhood when you're really happy. It's like the days when you had nothing to do but just run in the sun and be happy. It gives me that kind of an impact," he says.

Pro Tip: Shane recommends spraying your scent on your clothing too, to make it last longer.

Falguni Peacock's Sleep Must Have

Creating the perfect sleep atmosphere is a must for Falguni, and a few spritzes of the Thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray: Natural Sleep ($23, originally $30) does the trick. "We've got such hectic lives constantly working, and there are times when I'm all charged up in the evening, and it's very hard to fall asleep. This spray just creates a calm feeling and puts me to sleep," Falguni says. The pillow spray has notes of lavender, chamomile, and vetivert that are supposed to calm your mind and body. "It feels like I'm in a field of lavender. I'm in a field somewhere in Tuscany or somewhere south of France, and just taking it all in and feeling at ease with myself," she says.

Pro Tip: Falguni recommends spraying it liberally on your pillows, blankets, and just in the air as well, to really set the environment and let the lavender and chamomile scent de-stress and relax you.

Shane likes to play a game of Sudoku ($5) before heading to bed as a palette cleanser for his brain. He describes it as "taking a break before you go back to design, trying to not think of patterns and colors and designs." As a designer, he spends most of his energy in being creative and letting ideas flow, constantly thinking about colors, patterns, and silhouettes. To help him switch gears and relax, he turns to something more analytical and problem-solving. "There's no definition of a pattern when you're designing, but when you're playing Sudoku, it makes you focus on a certain number and it makes you focus on a certain pattern," he says.

Pro Tip: If he can't figure out a certain puzzle, he doesn't stress over it — he'll take a break and come back to it later. Stepping away from a problem for some time can help you figure out the solution when you're ready to tackle it.

Falguni loves to dress up, especially according to her mood. "On happy days I'm in happy clothes, loud colors, but on dull days I'm in monotone clothes." Right now, she's loving a standout piece that's also versatile, like the Falguni Shane Peacock Botanic Wink World Long Dress ($650). "I have this piece, and I wear it in winter with a jacket and boots. I can wear it with heels in the day for brunch or at night for a party," she says. This dress can accommodate your vibe, whether you're lounging in a big floppy hat with a glass of wine in the Maldives or sporting it on a New York rooftop.

This bold multicolored number has kimono-style sleeves and a flattering drawstring ruching in the front for a unique silhouette. Falguni points out that the silk-twill fabric is luxurious and falls beautifully. Plus, it can be folded into a suitcase and will take up minimal space for all your travel and holiday plans. "If I were to wear this for a holiday in maybe the south of France, then I would just wear it with a hat and I would wear it with nice, beautiful looking flats in the day, and if I'm going out at night, then I would just change my heel, get the hat out, and put my Dior rouge lipstick with nice sunglasses," she says.

Pro Tip: "When I style my dresses, I layer them a lot because I just feel like it completes the look," she says, noting that it's entirely dependent on your personality. "A long dress would look really cool if it's worn with the right kind of boots if you're going for a streetwear look. It can look really pretty if you wear it with a stiletto for a very classy, elegant look," Falguni says.

Although Shane creates some of the most gorgeous, colorful designs and glamorous pieces, his personal style is a little more pulled back. "I was brought up in a family with a military background and I studied in a boarding school, so I'm very regimental and uniform in my dressing," he says. If he likes a certain pattern or design, he'll buy it in a ton of different colors, but he often veers toward black.

Shane loves sporting a bomber since it's a happy medium between being professional and creative, and the piece he often wears himself is the Falguni Shane Peacock FSP Monogrammed Black Bomber Jacket ($481). It's a contemporary bomber jacket that's perfect for all your off- and on-duty outfits. "I can go from office to dinner to a late-night party," he says. This laidback bomber jacket has a subtle all-over FSP monogram print and is detailed with a black embroidered FSP patch on the chest and ribbed trims. It has a breathable pure silk lining for an elevated touch that's also comfortable.

"When you buy something or you wear something, you should feel good about it," he says, reflecting on his staple bomber jackets. His personal style is rooted in feeling comfortable with who you are: "I don't mind wearing a simple white shirt and blue jeans because it's also telling me that I'm comfortable with what I'm wearing."

Pro Tip: You can style this jacket with jeans, sneakers, or a sweatshirt, or even dress up a casual look like an airport outfit.
