London Fashion Week's September 2020 season is taking a new form this year. What's usually labeled as the Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear schedule will now be a gender-neutral showcase of both womenswear and menswear designs, which will include digital activations and physical presentations that adhere to government social-distancing guidelines.

From Thursday Sept. 17 (12 p.m. ET) to Tuesday Sept. 22, londonfashionweek.co.uk will host the digital portion of London Fashion Week. You'll be able to take a virtual front-row seat to view and critique exclusive multimedia content curated by the British Fashion Council — with the official London Fashion Week September 2020 schedule to be released later this summer.

It's crucial to note that London Fashion Week September 2020 is not only gender-neutral, but also a major push from the BFC to embrace a more sustainable fashion schedule. It's customary for the fashion schedule to focus on what is "next," that way we are always playing a game of catch up and chasing what is "new." For example, September is usually used to preview what we will be wearing in spring and summer 2021, but this time, the BFC is living in the "now" and choosing a slower approach to fashion and consumption. This is the first official season that the BFC and LFW is embracing "reset" as a central theme of its Positive Fashion and #LFWReset initiative — certainly a move in the right direction.
