Halo Top, known for its low-cal pints of ice cream, has officially launched the new Halo Top Keto Series. Each pint, as the name suggests, has keto-friendly macros: high fat, solid protein content, low carbs. The net carb count, which you calculate by subtracting the dietary fiber and sugar alcohols from total carbs, ranges from five to 10 grams per pint. That's a pretty sweet deal!
Seven flavors are joining the Halo Top party in this Keto Series: Peanut Butter Chocolate, Caramel Butter Pecan, Chocolate Cheesecake, Jelly Donut, Berry Swirl, Banana Cream Pie, and White Chocolaty Macadamia Nut. Each pint goes for $6 in nationwide stores.
For reference, one pint of Halo Top's regular Peanut Butter Cup ice cream has, according to the Halo Top website, 14 grams of fat and 24 grams of net carbs per pint, whereas the Halo Top Keto Series's Peanut Butter Chocolate ice cream has 54 grams of fat and 8 grams of net carbs per pint. Halo Top's dairy-free version of Peanut Butter Cup has 16 grams of fat and 20 grams of net carbs per pint.
Note: the Keto Series pints are considerably higher in calories than the dairy and vegan flavors, so if you're not on the keto diet and want to try these new flavors but are also trying to watch your calorie intake, you might want to opt out for the other pints Halo Top has to offer. Peanut Butter Chocolate from the Keto Series has 630 calories, while the regular Peanut Butter Cup pint has nearly half of that at 320 calories.
A spokesperson for Halo Top told POPSUGAR via email, "In the case of our Halo Top Keto Series, we're providing an option for people following a ketogenic lifestyle, which prioritizes consuming more calories from protein and fat and fewer from carbohydrates. You'll notice that the Halo Top Keto Series has less sugar and more fat than Halo Top dairy pints, and we hope that folks looking to reduce their sugar intake will love the taste as well!"
