We're Not Saying Dunkin' Donuts Is Healthy, but Here Are the Healthiest Items

If America truly runs on Dunkin', then we've all been running on quite a bit of saturated fat and added sugar. But hey, who doesn't want a doughnut now and then? Cravings happen, and we're here to help.

Of all the sugary, fatty items on the Dunkin' menu, we grabbed the lowest in sugar, calories, and fat (and highest in protein, in some cases) to guide you through ordering. We'd like to think we're making the best of an otherwise unhealthy situation. But just remember — one doughnut won't kill you. It's all about healthy balance, right?

Disclaimer: this is still a sugar-laden drink. But of all the Iced Macchiato flavors (French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Mocha, Caramel, Salted Caramel, and Pumpkin), Mocha takes the lead with fewest grams of sugar (29), although the difference is negligible, as Pumpkin — which has the highest caloric and sugar content — only has four more grams (33 total). A small with skim milk comes in at 160 calories for all of these flavors.

At only 20 calories, black iced coffee with skim milk has only two grams of natural sugar. This is actually the least offensive thing on the entire menu.

A 320-calorie sandwich with 13 grams of fat, 33 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fiber, and 17 grams of protein? Not bad, Dunkin'. Not bad. Although the "egg patty" contains things like potato starch and mold inhibitors and the ingredient list is about as long as a senior-level jet propulsion systems textbook, this Egg White Flatbread sandwich won't totally destroy your diet.

The Egg and Cheese Sandwich also isn't that bad. Yes, it's 470 calories for a sandwich, but you're also getting 20 grams of protein and five grams of fiber.

Last, but certainly not least: the least aggressive doughnuts on Dunkin's menu.

The best doughnut? The Sugared Raised Donut (aka a sugar-coated doughnut) has "only" 230 calories, with 14 grams of fat, six grams of saturated fat, four grams of sugar, and 22 grams of carbs.

In second place is the beloved Glazed Donut. The GD has 30 more calories than the Sugared Raised (260) with the same amount of fat but three times as much sugar (12 grams) and 31 grams of carbs. But compared to the Eclaire (380 calories, 18 grams of fat, 50 grams of carbohydrates, and 22 grams of sugar), it almost seems like a diet food!
