Olive Garden may not be the first place that comes to mind when you're looking for a low-calorie restaurant meal, but the pasta chain recently announced a new menu item that serves as an alternative to guests looking for a lighter option when getting their pasta fix. Beginning on May 28, Olive Garden will join the "zoodles" craze with its new Zoodles Primavera dish. The meal, which can be bought in lunch and dinner portions, is made with zucchini noodles that are tossed in a basil cream sauce along with various vegetables like broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and mushrooms.

Zoodles Primavera can be found on Olive Garden's Tastes of the Mediterranean menu, which features several meals under 600 calories — all inspired by flavors and ingredients popular on the Mediterranean coast of Italy. The lunch portion of the new dish is available starting at just $9, while the dinner portion will sell for $15. Guests also have the option to add chicken to their meals for an extra $2, or shrimp for an extra $4. Read ahead to get a look at some photos of Olive Garden's new zoodles, and then head to the location closest to you to try them out.
