Meet Team USA's Rockstar Women's Gymnastics Squad

Last week the top five women from Team USA women's gymnastics made the cut for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and they've been touted as "the most decorated and competitive women's gymnastics teams ever." What does that mean? Expect to see some on-fire performances in a couple weeks.

Let's get to know this go(ld)-getting roster with returning vets and brand-new all-stars. Without further ado, the high-flying ladies of Team USA!

Simone Biles

Age: 19

Where She's From: Spring, TX

What She's Known For: What isn't she known for? She's the most decorated gymnast in history and the first African American to be world all-around champion. According to the Team USA website, she's considered to be the greatest female gymnast ever.

What to Watch For: Everything, but quite especially her insane floor routines and the vault.

Fun Fact: Ellen DeGeneres gave Simone a leotard covered in (her crush) Zac Efron's face.

Laurie Hernandez

Age: 16

Where She's From: Old Bridge, NJ

What She's Known For: She's the only first-year, senior-level gymnast on the team (i.e., she's the baby of the team, and she's amazing).

What to Watch For: She's favored for all around and is said to be "key in team final." Her floor routines are also particularly impressive.

Fun Fact: She has called herself "sassy" on more than one occasion — in fact, it's probably one of her key identifiers (her coach said).

Aly Raisman

Age: 22

Where She's From: Needham, MA

What She's Known For: Aly competed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London and returned the most decorated gymnast with three medals, winning gold for her floor routine.

What to Watch For: Definitely the floor — she's the reigning champion. Have you seen her floor routines? She's a phenomenal tumbler; look at what goes into her round-off-back-handsprings and double front flips.

Fun Fact: She's modeling in an upcoming Aeropostale campaign for stretchy jeans!

Gabby Douglas

Gabby Douglas

Age: 20

Where She's From: Virginia Beach, VA

What She's Known For: Gabby has been making headlines since the London Olympic Games in 2012, becoming the first United States athlete to win gold medals for team and all around. She was also the first black gymnast to win an individual Olympic gold medal.

What to Watch For: Everything, but particularly uneven bars, in which she's won gold at different competitions before.

Fun Fact: She's got her own emoji keyboard — Gabbymoji.

Age: 19

Where She's From: Dallas

What She's Known For: Madison won the uneven bars world title in 2015 in an unexpected four-way tie.

What to Watch For: She's pegged to score big for Team USA on the uneven bars — her specialty! You're definitely going to want to watch her when the bars competition is going down.

Fun Fact: This all-American Texas girl loves Rangers baseball!
