Kayla Itsines's Sweat App Launches Barre and Yoga Workouts Featuring New Badass Trainers

We're already big fans of Kayla Itsines's fitness app Sweat and the muscle-building, fat-blasting, and heart-pumping workouts it features. We love that some workouts are bodyweight-only, while others require minimal equipment (think: just one set of dumbbells). While the focus has primarily been on strength training and cardio, there are other workouts fans have been requesting — and Sweat listened.

Starting today, Sweat now offers two new workouts: yoga and barre. These styles of training are perfect for people looking to do something more low-impact or to supplement other training plans. The best part? All of these workouts are designed to be done at home. "The reality is that many women don't train using the one fitness style," Kayla said in a statement. "They want to be able to include other fitness styles, like barre or yoga, alongside their high-intensity and strength workouts."

The workouts will be led by a crop of new trainers, all with their own expertise and experience. The new barre program, Barre With Britany, will be led by Sweat instructor Britany Williams. The new yoga classes feature vinyasa instructor Phyllicia Bonanno, who will be teaching Yoga With Phyllicia, as well as vinyasa instructor Ania Tippkemper teaching Yoga With Ania. And while these workouts are new, the Body and Mind (BAM) yoga program by Sjana Elise will still be available in the Sweat app.

To kick off these new programs, POPSUGAR is offering an exclusive two-week low-impact workout plan starting on Monday, Nov. 30, featuring barre workouts from Britany and yoga workouts from Phyllicia and Ania. The plan will also include two low-intensity steady-state (LISS) cardio days and one rest day a week.

Keep reading to learn more about these trainers, the programs they are offering, and how it will help supplement your training plan. Also, get a sneak peek at one of the Barre With Britany classes that will be offered in week one of the Sweat 2-Week Low-Impact Barre and Yoga Workout Plan, featured exclusively on POPSUGAR. Time to sweat!

About Phyllicia: As a teenager, Phyllicia was a fan of Madonna and drawn to how mentally and physically strong the performer had become after practicing yoga, so Phyllicia decided to try it for herself. She liked that yoga gave her a mental and physical challenge, and allowed her to express herself creatively. In addition to yoga, Phyllicia also does high-intensity training sessions for her own workouts. Phyllicia is not only a yoga instructor who teaches classes and workshops; she's also a full-time elementary school art teacher.

It's ideal for those starting out with yoga or for people looking to build strength and improve stability. Sweat program: Yoga With Ania

Where she lives: Düsseldorf, Germany

Instagram handle: @ania_75

Qualifications: Ania is a qualified yoga instructor with 200 hours of yoga teacher training completed.

About Ania: Ania was born in Poland and moved to Germany in her early twenties, where she's lived ever since. She first discovered yoga by accident on a vacation when a Pilates class was canceled and she had to take a yoga class instead. She was surprised at how challenging yoga was, and started practicing regularly when she got back to Germany. In addition to practicing yoga, Ania also enjoys running, swimming, cycling, and hiking, as well as outdoor walks in nature.

Ania's yoga program: Yoga With Ania is an athletic style of vinyasa yoga combining challenging and energetic poses to improve overall strength, flexibility, and mobility. Her classes are ideal for beginners or those looking to challenge themselves, as Ania guides users through technique and more advanced poses. The program has six weeks of programming, and users are encouraged to do three resistance classes per week. Classes feature four to six sequences per class, with each sequence incorporating a number of poses. They run for approximately three to 12 minutes in length for a total workout time of between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the class. The classes do require minimal equipment in addition to a mat: a yoga block, yoga bolster, and blanket, but they can easily be substituted for household items. Yoga With Ania is available exclusively on the Sweat app and features long-form videos to follow along with.
