Although thankfully there are a gazillion different vegan ice creams available nowadays, and you can even find dairy-free options at local ice cream shops, a lot of them still contain a lot of sugar. If you want a naturally sweetened frozen treat that tastes just as luscious as ice cream, make this cherry "nice" cream.

Made with just four ingredients — frozen cherries, frozen banana, unsweetened vanilla soy milk, and plant-based protein powder — this treat comes together in about five minutes and tastes so fresh, creamy, and sweet, you'll want to make it again and again.

INGREDIENTS

    • 2 cups frozen cherries
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla soy milk
    • 1/3 cup vanilla or chocolate plant-based protein powder (I used 1 serving of vanilla KOS, which has 20 grams of protein per serving)
    • Toppings optional (chocolate chips, chopped nuts, hemp seeds, shredded coconut, or granola)

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Add the frozen cherries, banana, and soy milk to a food processor or blender, and puree a few minutes until the fruit is finely chopped.

    2. Add the protein powder, and puree until smooth.

    3. Scoop out half the ice cream, add the toppings of your choice, and enjoy!
