What color to paint the different rooms in a home is always a hotly debated topic. Interior designers have their standbys, trends point towards another set of colors, and mood boosting or calming hues dictate their own palette. But Zillow found that homebuyers place a premium on certain colors — primarily, neutral shades of gray and blue. The online real estate website broke down what colors buyers are looking for in each room and how much more they're willing to pay to get them. Take a look ahead.
Blue Bedroom
Zillow found that bedrooms painted in blue — specifically shades of light cerulean to cadet that make you think of a cool pool — fetch $1,856 more than other colors.

Shades of brown — think beige, taupe, and oatmeal — on a living room wall reportedly entice buyers to shell out $1,926 more.

Kitchens are one of the most trafficked rooms in the home, and therefore one of the most important when selling. Make your kitchen more desirable able to buyers by painting it soft gray-blue, a color that Zillow found gets a premium of $1,809.
