This Is Not a Joke: Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Bringing Back Fixer Upper!

If you (like me) were heartbroken when Fixer Upper ended in 2018 after five seasons, I have what might be the best news you've heard in a while: it's coming back! Chip and Joanna Gaines announced that their beloved show will return and air exclusively on their new Magnolia Network when it launches in 2021.

While the home-renovation duo decided to step back from the show despite its popularity to work on other projects and spend time with their five kids, they explained in a press release announcing the news that they realized how much they missed it. "The day we wrapped our final episode of Fixer Upper, we really believed it was a chapter closed," the couple said. "We knew we needed a break and a moment to catch our breath. But we also knew we weren't done dreaming about ways to make old things new again. These past few years, we've continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we're passionate about, but I don't think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts. We've missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we're excited to do that again very soon!"

In addition to the return of Fixer Upper, Magnolia Network also announced two more shows they're adding to their growing list of original programming: an untitled project featuring interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn and Self Employed (the show's working title) with entrepreneur Jonathan Morris. According to the press release, Flynn's untitled project will "showcase his eclectic yet distinctive style and keen eye for design. Along with his team of skilled designers, Flynn creates the most breathtaking spaces and tackles decorating projects on any budget or within any scope, all with a dash of humor." And Self Employed will follow Texas-based entrepreneur Morris as he travels the US and meets some of the country's most inspiring small-business owners. "Together, they will share stories of unwavering resilience, insatiable ambition, and the winding roads they've traveled to successfully build their dream jobs."

Magnolia Network previously announced details for 10 shows back in May, including Home on the Road (about a couple who raises their two small kids while on tour with their band), Bespoke Kitchens (about one-of-a-kind kitchen designs), and Family Dinner (about how families come together over food and unique traditions), among others.

While there's no set date for the return of Fixer Upper, this is just another reason we can't wait to get to 2021!
