15 Times We Really, REALLY Hoped Harry and Hermione Would End Up Together
Ron, who? Admit it, if you've ever watched (more so than read) the Harry Potter series, you've at some point deep down rooted for Harry and Hermione to end up together. It's OK, you're in a safe space here. The chemistry is undeniable, and you can't ignore that Harry is more of an intellectual equal to Hermione than Ron, at least in the films. In fact, the only couple we've shipped harder than them is Malfoy and Hermione, which isn't even realistic (or is it?). Even J.K. Rowling herself agrees! But if you still have doubts, we're going to prove it to you. Here are 15 moments in the series that had us yelling at our screens for Harry and Hermione to just do it already!
When they would give each other the biggest hugs.
Starting when they were just kids.
And they just got better as they got older.
When Hermione was always worried about Harry's safety.
Rita Skeeter be damned.
And she gave him another enthusiastic hug before he faced the dragons at the Triwizard Tournament.
When they were never shy about holding onto each other in stressful situations.
When they traveled through time together.
Closer . . .
And shared a little inside joke because poor Ron was too injured to join them.
When Harry got protective of Hermione after they saw the Dark Mark at the Quidditch World Cup.
Again, sorry, Ron.
When Harry whispered in Hermione's ear at the first meeting of the DA.
When Hermione fixed Harry's hair.
When they gave each other knowing looks.
When they held onto each for dear life in the face of danger.
And Harry protected Hermione from Lupin when he was a werewolf.
And Harry's hand just lingered on Hermione's arm.
When Hermione put her head on Harry's shoulder in Godric's Hollow.
Whenever they held hands.
OK, they were about to apparate, but still!
When they TOTALLY MADE OUT.
And we wished it was real.
When they danced together and we were holding our breaths the whole time.
Their faces are touching!
Ugh, it's so cute.
When they shared THIS look.
I mean, COME ON.
When they hugged for what might be the last time.
And we cried a million tears.
We'll never let it go!
