The Incredible Thing Everyone Can Learn From 1 Baby Born With the Cord Wrapped Around Her

As a birth photographer, Monet Nicole is used to reconnecting with pregnant friends from different stages of her life. When her old college friend reached out before the birth of her baby girl, Monet was excited to capture baby Adaline's entrance into the world. However, what made this delivery memorable wasn't just Monet's connection with Adaline's parents, it was what she witnessed during the baby girl's birth.

Monet explained that Kim received an epidural, which allowed her to rest before pushing. "When it was time for Adaline to be born, Kim pushed with such strength," Monet told POPSUGAR. "It didn't take long before her little girl came into the world and straight into her arms."

However, there was a brief moment of uncertainty when Adaline was first born. Her umbilical cord was wrapped around her belly, and though this could be alarming to some, Monet noticed the doctors' senses of calm and strength in this situation as she continued to capture the moment on camera. "This is not meant to scare anyone . . . but rather show that our babies and bodies are incredible," Monet wrote on Instagram. "This mama's care team barely batted an eye. They unwrapped baby and placed her right on mama's chest."
