The Biggest Secret at Trader Joe's Is So Sweet – And Parents Will Love It Most of All

Need one more reason to love Trader Joe's? No, you don't because you already love the grocery store unconditionally and nothing could possibly make your heart grow even the teensiest bit more?

Well, get ready to be absolutely overwhelmed with adoration for good old TJ's because, thanks to a 2016 Reddit AMA with a store manager, we've discovered the retailer's best-kept secret:

"Each store has a stuffed animal of some sort hiding somewhere," the employee wrote. "It's really just for kids to run around and find the missing animal, and they get a treat. Kids seem to LOVE it and parents go along with it, too."

Did you hear that, parents? It turns out that most Trader Joe's locations hide a stuffed animal on the retail floor. If your child finds it, just alert an employee to receive a prize, usually a lollipop.

Apparently, the stuffed animals vary from store to store. Some hide monkeys, while others have cows or penguins. When a commentor mentioned that they'd been told "there's a lobster hidden in the store," the manager said it wasn't cause for alarm that a large crustacean was on the loose: "I'm guessing the store you're referring to has a lobster as their stuffed animal."

Although you're probably feeling a little upset that Trader Joe's has kept this secret so, well, secretive for at least two years, just imagine how much better your next trip is going to be: when you're struggling to shop for your go-to frozen snacks with fussy kids in tow, just let them know about this amazing hide-and-seek game.

Trader Joe's, you have our hearts.
