Michelle Obama Shares an Amazing Message For Her Mom: "I Couldn't Have Done This Without You"

During her final appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as first lady, Michelle Obama shared some sweet thoughts about her mother, Marian Shields Robinson, who lived with the first family at the White House throughout Barack Obama's presidency.

Michelle said through laughter that her mother had left the White House right after Christmas because she was over the hoopla. On a more serious note, however, Michelle turned to the camera to thank the so-called first grandma, who Michelle said was likely watching: "I couldn't have done this without you, mom. You are my role model. You are an amazing woman even though you don't think you had anything to do with me." Turning to Jimmy, Michelle said, "She always says that, 'You raised yourself.' I did not. It was you and dad."

Michelle then made Marian seem like the coolest lady out there. On her mother's presence in the White House, she said, "Having that multi-generational existence kept us all grounded because mom doesn't really play." She also uttered a telling and incredible sentence: "She's not impressed with any of us."

Following the touching exchange, Michelle offered some commentary on various already iconic photographs of her and the president. Check out the endearing interview above.
