On Friday, sister duo Chloe x Halle appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to talk about their album Ungodly Hour. After Kelly fangirled over the pair (and vice versa), the host talked with the women about deciding to push the release of their album to honor George Floyd and how they are "interpreting this moment in our country."

"People deserve to live a beautiful and long life just like everyone else."

Without missing a beat, Halle replied, "Well, the first couple of weeks, when everything was happening, we were definitely just very sad and I feel like collectively, in our community of our black brothers and sisters, it's like this collective feeling of trauma when something like that happens. Because for me personally, I think of my little brother. We think of our dad. That could have been them. So, we are just trying to do everything we can and to continue to lift each other up with our voices and demand justice for what's right." She then went on to say, "[The] color of our skin should not be a death sentence. People deserve to live a beautiful and long life just like everyone else." Check out the clip above to hear Chloe x Halle's thoughts on Michelle Obama being one of their biggest supporters, Beyoncé having "no notes" on their album, and Halle's upcoming role in The Little Mermaid.
