No, You're Not Dreaming — Target's Shopping Carts Are Now . . . Mario Karts?

As if you needed yet another reason to shop at Target, the company just announced a nostalgic shopping cart makeover inspired by Mario. Target uploaded a photo of its "Super Target Karts" on Instagram, writing, "It's GO time!", along with an official announcement which revealed 650+ stores will be blessed with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach carts starting April 21.

"Experience counts — it's what keeps guests coming in and coming back to our stores," Scott Nygaard, senior vice president of Target merchandising, stated. "So we're delivering the fun like only Target can, giving generations of Mario fans a shopping trip they won't soon forget."

This is the first time Target has ever decorated its carts, but don't expect the new design to last forever. Target says this is a limited-time experience to celebrate the release of Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Switch. Target shoppers can expect a "full game-on mode" experience before entering the store. Revamped Mario and Luigi bollards ("designed to stop stray cars") will be placed outside to greet customers at the main entrance.

Sounds like an epic event you wont want to miss. Read on to see the redesigned Mario bollard, then discover seven fascinating facts about Target you'll wish you knew of sooner.
