Mapping Holidate's Filming Locations — So You Can Hunt Down Your Own Jackson

We can't stop thinking about Netflix's Holidate, with its imperfectly-romantic storyline, ugly Christmas sweaters, Sloane's adorable outfits (that leopard coat!) and yeah, Jackson's everything. It's the perfect movie to ring in the holiday season, mixing hilarious one-liners, cringe-worthy moments, and the right amount of romanticism to send our hearts aflutter. We're so obsessed with it that we researched all the real-life filming locations – and we couldn't be more surprised. Although the movie is set in Chicago, with a heat map of the city showing locations such as Logan Square and Evanston, it was actually filmed in Atlanta. Although screenwriter and executive producer Tiffany Paulsen knew the story had to be set in Chicago since the city "loves the holidays", Atlanta serves as a festive real-life backdrop to reflect all of the change of seasons the movie showcases. Ahead, find all of Holidate's filming locations, and consider making a scouting trip for yourself.

Gwinnett Place Mall

The fictional Lakeview Mall where Sloane and Jackson meet as they're returning terrible Christmas presents (although, can you ever have too many holiday pajamas or khakis?) is actually Atlanta's Gwinnett Place Mall. And get this – it's actually the same location for Stranger Things' Starcourt Mall, so consider us mind-blown.

Domaine

Topping all the New Years Eve holidates there ever were, Jackson and Sloane's nightclub partying makes up one of our favorite scenes from the movie. Jackson's party actually takes place at the club Domaine in Atlanta, which was once an authentic opera house and now regularly hosts DJ's and musicians. Make your way to Domaine and test out the Dirty Dancing-Ryan Gosling move for yourself, if you dare.

Rí Rá Atlanta

St. Patrick's Day in Holidate-world means hanging out at the bar in a green short wig, drinking beer, and having a chance encounter with your entire family – and we're here for it. The scene was actually filmed in Rí Rá Atlanta, an Irish pub housing all kinds of collector's pieces, an incredible beer list, and lots of live music.

Reid-Murdoch Center

Although Holidate wasn't actually filmed in Chicago (you could've had us fooled though), viewers get a lot of windy city shots throughout the film, including one of the famous Reid-Murdoch Center. A famed Chicago landmark, it has been an office building, grocery warehouse, makeshift hospital, and government headquarters throughout the years, and is a gorgeous architectural feat.
