Apple Just Patented a Crazy iPhone Idea

Future iPhones could be flexible both inside and out — at least that's according to a patent recently granted to Apple.

Details and images from the document show that an iPhone could be twisted and bent in half, all while keeping the exterior and interior (batteries and circuits included) intact.

"Flexible electronic devices may be more resistant to damage during impact events such as drops because the flexible device may bend or deform while absorbing the impact," reads part of the patent.

Before we get too excited, it's important to note that Apple sometimes files patents just so the competition can't get to them first and doesn't actually bring the ideas to life. But seeing as how this might be a solution to the iPhone 6 bendgate drama, it could be the real deal.
