This Woman Broke a World Record For Traveling to All 196 Countries the Fastest

Cassie De Pecol just put all our travel achievements to shame. The 27-year-old officially set two Guinness World Records for visiting all 196 countries in the world in 18 months (the fastest time ever) and for being the first woman to visit all sovereign countries.

Cassie dedicated three years of her life to this journey, including a year and a half of working 85 hours a week babysitting. With $10,000 saved up, she embarked on her life-changing experience that she calculated to be about $200,000 on July 24, 2015. Although she had sponsors to help her out, she told Us Weekly that she ran out of money eight months and 60 countries in and had to come back home. But she was able to score more funding through her project Expedition 196 Entrepreneur, an online seminar about travel and entrepreneurship, and continue the rest of her year-and-a-half-long trip around the world. She finally finished in Yemen in February.
