The song's writer, Ingrid Burley, recently sat down with Genius and she spilled a little bit of tea (or should we say lemonade) about how the track actually stemmed from her frustration with Bey's label, Parkwood Entertainment. When two people from the label lied to her, saying that Beyoncé wasn't listening to new music, Ingrid said she sat down and put her emotions into lyrics.
