Gwen Stefani Gets Asked About Blake Shelton and Gavin Rossdale in the Same Interview

Gwen Stefani has pretty much been an open book since she confirmed her romance with Blake Shelton in early November, but during a recent interview with KIIS-FM's JoJo Wright, she decided to talk about the other man in her life: her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. After the radio host asked if Gwen's new song, "Used to Love You," is about Gavin, the No Doubt singer replied, "The song was not written that long ago. Like, I want to say maybe a month and half ago, which is crazy. I had been writing, writing because my life blew up. Everybody knows that my life blew up last February. I'd just been dealing with that. Unexpected. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it's not. I don't know what happened. There was one night, the epicenter of the whole thing — that's the most I can say about that — and the next day I wrote the chorus to 'Used to Love You,' but I didn't know it was 'Used to Love You.' I just had written all this stuff and it had happened to be in there buried in a bunch of lyrics that I had written."

The radio host also managed to squeeze in one burning question about Blake, who brought Gwen home to his home state of Oklahoma last month. "One thing: what does he drink?" she said. "He always has something in his cup. Probably ain't coffee. Do you even know what's in there?" The show unfortunately cut to commercial before Gwen had time to answer, but she did hint at her current romance before signing off, saying, "I think the most magical thing to me is if you're just really pure and honest and real, people know that. If you're a liar and a fake, people know that as well. I don't have anything to hide. How amazing to have something beautiful amongst something so horrible."
