Marion Cotillard on Those Brad Pitt Affair Rumors: "I Don't Give Energy to This"

Marion Cotillard only has one thing to say to people who think she had an affair with Brad Pitt: it never happened. The Allied actress stopped by the Today show on Thursday morning to promote her new World War II-era drama with the actor — who is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with estranged wife Angelina Jolie — and shot down rumors of an illicit romance for the second time. "I never take anything personally when it doesn't concern me," she told host Matt Lauer. "So I didn't take it personally because I had nothing to do with those rumors or situation."

Marion, who posed with Brad at the film's LA premiere earlier this month, first addressed the rumors in an Instagram post in September, where she also announced that she and longtime partner Guillaume Canet are expecting their second child:

"I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up. Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn't distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment. With all my love Marion."

While on Today, Marion made sure to also note that the only time she was ever even remotely romantic with Brad was while they filmed love scenes in Allied, saying, "It's always [an] awkward situation, but it's also a very fun situation because it's awkward."
